Bit disappointed
I ordered this monitor since I finally wanted to get something that was 144hz. I didn't mind that was refurbished since most refurbs need to be almost similar standards as the new product. I also knew I needed to buy a high speed display port cable so there were no issues.
It said the monitor would arrive between March 16th and March 23rd. It arrived at my doorstep on March 26th. I didn't mind it was late, but I was at least expecting it to be on time. The next thing I noticed was 2 large puncture holes in the box (of which I don't believe were from refurbforless but from the shipping company, thanks fedex).
When I started to pull the monitor out of the box, I heard a click, only to discover that the plastic casing at the top of the monitor was not fully attached or closed. This was the first thing that I didn't like already. When I pulled it fully out, I grabbed the bottom or base of the monitor/screen and once again it clicked or cracked. This time it would not lock in, but looked and feeled like it was pulled off, and now is curved outward, same goes with the right side of the monitor. From what was described in the product description, and I quote,"Monitor Manufacturer Refurbished- Some monitors have minor scratches on frame/and or base but none". This is neither since there are actually no scratches on the frame or base.
Another problem I have is that along the bottom, right, and top part of the frames while the monitor is displayed, there is color bleed or light bleed(photo will show what I mean). I only affects me when in my home screen which is all black, but goes away in chrome or a game, but it shouldn't be there at all.
Lastly, it took me ages to try and get it to display 144hz. After I had it set, the games would not play at that, but were still stuck at 60. I got it twice to display at 144hz. The first time, the screen freaked out and some of it would display, some of it wouldn't with patches of lines. The other time was normal after leaving it sit in those settings over night. But days after, games would not display at 144hz, and yes, v-sync was off. The monitor will say it is in the setting, but the games won't get over 60, and these are games that were playing at 130 fps the time it did display.
I know this is quite long, but I seem to have lost the draw while many others have won and are pleased with their monitors. I am disappointed with what I was given and will most likely be sending it back. Seems $165.00 was too good to be true.
