A good read - well written
After deciding to start clearing out my loft, I stumbled across this book online and it helped make sense of my reasoning to start clearing out my own stuff.
The book is aimed at older people, to help prepare for death but I actually feel I could resonate with this book (I'm in my 40's) as no matter how old we are, we can have things stored away or inherited that we do not want or need or things that serve us no purpose at all.
I enjoyed reading tales from the authors life and the way she spoke honestly about things, helped put getting rid of certain items into a guilt free activity.
I finished the book in a week or so, after having already started my own cleaning for a few weeks and it just reinforced my own ideas and feelings about things.
I would encourage this book to those who want to make some changes but who aren't sure where to start. A very important part of this process is to carefully go through things and to find the courage to let go of memories attached to things no longer helping us move forward in our lives. It is important to look back, but to look back once and let go will benefit the reader far more than keeping on looking back and not going forward.
I have passed this book around to many friends and it never fails to interest me, the people who are not yet and may never yet, be ready.
