Not safe = if you have high Blood pressure or acid reflux/GERD
I began using Ashwagandha at the suggestion of my holistic practitioner. At the time, I had no known health issues, but she said it would help with anxiety. I took it for some time, and felt it helpful, But over time (over a year of useage) I developed first; high blood pressure and then, acid reflux. Upon doing research, I found this supplement can cause BOTH to occur. I have had to stop using it. The acid reflux has much improved (since I stopped using the Ashwagandha) but I am now on BP medication and I have not been able to get my BP to come down far enough (even when I lost 20 pounds) to get off the blood pressure medication. I think the Ashwagandha should come with WARNINGS, as these are common side effects and issues, that many adults (male or female) can suffer. So while this particular supplement is reasonable in price and seems to be of good quality, I think anyone using a supplement of this nature, needs to use it with CAUTION, I had no idea of the possible side-effects.
