    Good little windscreen repair kit.

Has enough to repair 2 cracks. Excellent value. Reasonable quality. Need to remember that the repair must be done in direct sunlight. This can be a bit tricky in a British winter! I managed to get a reasonably good repair in wintertime, but only just, as it wasn't until I got about 30 Min. of winter sunshine that the glue set. Not sure if a small UV light wouldn't be the thing for a repair in Winter in future. It did the job and has saved the cost of a windscreen repair at at least £150, perhaps more, so well worth trying, but remember the need for sunlight...

  • Most critical review

Good principle messed up by using the wrong material.

I've used this type of kit in the past and had good results but not this time and it's down the the double sided adhesive foam that was supplied in this kit. I was a little puzzled when I got the kit by the rubber O-rings as I've never seen them in these kits in the past but so-be-it I followed the instructions and used them - and then it became apparent that they had been included to try to solve the problem with the foam that had been supplied. The inclusion of the O-rings means that the supplier knows they've cocked up as they've made a half-assed attempt to fix it. So on to the problem - in a nutshell the self adhesive pads supplied are not closed cell foam which means that when you try to put the resin under a slight vacuum to draw any air out of the chip air can be drawn from the edges of the foam and into the little chamber that you created around the chip. Just as bad when you then try to apply a little pressure the resin can be forced out through the foam. Yet again someone has copied a perfectly good idea and made it un-reliable by cheaping out on the materials used to make it. The result is that you won't know which kits to trust to do a good job and which will be the rubbish ones.

  • Very effective, with limitations.

Great on smallish stone chips. (I didn't have any big ones) . easy to use. Sets absolutely clear. Not so good on cracks. The resin didn't quite penetrate the crack so it was still visible, but it would still stop it spreading. Plenty of resin supplied : enough for 4n or 5 chips. Good value for money.

  • Worked for me.

Worth a go at a diy repair considering how cheap this is. Appearance of chip improved a lot, didn't disapear but it got an old car through another mot. Watch the youtube videos first, they give a better idea than just the instruction sheet.

  • Everything you need including Blade to scrape of excess Enough for quite a few holes.

I was a bit apprehensive about trying this product, but after viewing it on Youtube decided to give it a go. As I have already stated it was as good as what Halfords done, which had since fallen out, and although not in my line of site, was put on my new MOT certificate, advising to get sorted as ASAP, which I have done. You can still see were the original " Bulls Eyes " cracks, which in my case, were two close to each other. But the resin has filled them both in and are smooth to the touch. A tip that might prove helpful, as my vehicle is SUV and the cracks were in the middle, at the bottom of the screen, When placing the applicator to the screen, and trying to look inside to see if it is in the middle of the hole. place the sucker device close to where the hole is, then screw in the part you use to apply the resin, so it just touches the screen and is in the middle, then push down on the suckers, after undoing a bit, look inside and it should be spot on. Finally be careful when opening package as plastic sheets inside instructions.

  • Well priced and effective

Follow the instructions to the letter and with finesse...you can't go wrong. Saves a claim being logged with your insurance and the faff of dealing with a repair company. I fixed a two inch long crack in the van window and a deep star chip 1/2 inch total diameter. Almost invisible on the car and totally gone on the van. I still have enough left for several more applications. Great product I now keep in the glovebox.

  • Variable results

A gritting lorry put three chips in my windscreen. This kit worked very well on one of them, leaving just a tiny mark that could only be seen if looked for very carefully. On a second (smaller) chip the kit was unable to force much liquid into the defective area so hardly made a difference. A third chip was a shallow flake of missing surface glass: the kit filled this flush but the surface of the resin was left milky/translucent afterwards, rather than clear, so probably made it more distracting than before. The kit's info says glass treatments can be used a week after application, so after seven days I gently tried some autoglym glass polish - which removed the resin and so I had to fill it again. So one chip much improved, one hardly touched, and one slightly worse; results seem to depend very heavily on the nature of the chip.

  • Works well with easy to follow instructions

Great product and very easy to follow instructions and worked a treat until 2 weeks after I repaired the very first chipped windscreen I have had in 20 years, Yes 20 years of driving to then get a second chip from a lorry carrying white pebbles on a dual carriageway and I had to keep driving as I was miles away from home so it went from a chip into a big crack half a mile from home so I had to have a new windscreen fitted

  • Decent repair kit

I had a 2cm chip that needed filling. It only damaged the 1st layer of the windscreen. 1st I tried the suck on kit (which was complete rubbish for twice the cost of this kit). >> This kit is decent. >> It does actually suck out air as I watched the bubbles being pulled out which is actually quite important before pushing the resin in. >> the resin dries hard within 20-30 minutes on a day when it was cloudy and about 23 degrees C. >> the sticky pad leaked after 10 minutes when I compressed the air to push the resin in, no big issue as the chip was mostly filled. You can avoid this by pushing the sticky pad down again after you suck the air out and before you push the resin in. >> it's difficult to know how much resin you put in as the resin bottle and the pedistal is solid (not transparent). I think I pushed 2/3rd of the resin on the 1st go 🤣 I would recommend this kit for the price, can't beat it.

  • Effective repair but needed considerable patience to complete

Sold as a complete, easy to use repair kit it worked well enough. As reviewers suggested it needed the sun to activate properly. On the first attempt to repair the chip the repair fluid took a long time to cure and didn’t fully harden after an hour due to actual applicator creating a shadow over the screen repair site. With the second attempt the repair was completed by leaving the repair fluid to cure for about 5 hours. Removing the applicator left a slight uneven surface so a final application of fluid was required by adding a drop of the fluid to the repair site without the applicator.
