The go to, lifetime warranty, best set I have owned.
Ok this is the set I take with me now on all my friend's "help me fix this" days. Its about half of what I normally carry and all of what I need. So happy they went black on this set. Do not get the smaller sets, upgrade now to at least 85 because the bits are hard to buy after the fact and rare. No 100s of bits, just one pass through design. It fits so many combos and this specific 85 piece comes with EVERYTHING to even use your standard bits and specialty sockets you already have with it given the adapters are all here. Also comes with rare extenders in the case which a lot of similar sets from other companies do not. Lifetime warranty from Craftsman built solid, but I will be getting a second or thrid 3/8 drive as the down time to send out wrenches of this type is a bit more lengthy. Some stores do not carry max axess or the whole line, it is not as simple as the standard store repair trade out or repair while you wait at Sears. You may have to have them order in and then warranty replace a week or more later so keep that in mind. I plan to get a low profile 3/8th max axess as a backup to this one so I don't have downtime and I have options if I bust one or need the clearance. Used it a handful of times, works good, but I would feel a lot better with a spare. The 1/4th wrench is kinda cheap and the bits sit loose but nice for small places; if I beat it up bad I know I would break it. The 3/8th I have trouble getting the adapters in and out because it isn't broken in yet, nice and tight like it should be and better design. All in all, a great compliment to your tool chest. I'm keeping all my old sockets for the repetitive work and may baby this set a bit more out of caution, but I'm happy.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Metric pieces are not metric.
Many if not all of the pieces labeled as metric in this kit are not metric. They have just chosen the nearest SAE pieces and labeled them as metric which renders them useless if any force is needed as they will just slip. Not just Special use tools
These sockets are excellent for getting nuts off long bolts as well as tight spaces. The pass-through design is great, I have yet to run into a bolt that is too big to fit through this design. The ratchet and socket have a shorter depth that allows it to fit into tighter spaces than a regular ratchet and socket. They are also good for nearly every use that you would use a regular socket for. These come with HUGE sockets that even fit the bolt on my front axle. I love these. Go For The Complete Set
The Craftsman 85 Piece Universal Max Axess Tool Set would be an excellent addition to anyone's tool shed. The only reason I didn't rate it at 5 Stars was due to the larger handle not being properly assembled. Once fixed, the set was perfect. The hole through the ratchet and sockets comes in handy when you need a shorter bolt but all you have is a longer one. A bonus is the low profile of the socket in the handle that allows access into tight areas.
