Quiet and easy to install on AMD.
Quiet and keeps the cpu cool when rendering raw video footage. Also, it's easy to install on AMD. Didn't have to remove the motherboard to fit a backplate. Came supplied with ready-applied thermal grease. With the recent addition of more ram, a Samsung SSD card for the OS and this - my computer feels and performs like a brand new machine. I don't know what the actual temp differences are but the cpu used to get very hot with the stock cooler and the fan used to whirr madly and noisily for ages after a render had finished. Now renders don't seem to ruffle the cpu at all. When I first switched the computer on after installation I was quite amazed at the difference - the computer did seem to perform better, and I have now been able to overclock slightly from 3.4 to 3.7, which was impossible before.
