Excellent alternative to gas
I bought this to heat a marquee for a party. Glad I did as it was a miserable day. I toyed with the idea of a gas pyramid or patio heater, but they were as much to rent as this was to buy. Plus you need to get the right gas and make sure you don't poison your guests with the fumes. This got round all of those issues. It gives a nice warm glow which lights as well as heats. At 1500W it warms a reasonable area, and allegedly costs only 18p an hour to run. Lightweight and easy to lift into place. I hung it from its chain around the crossbrace of the tent, about a foot below the apex and 8 feet off the ground. I could hang it from a tree in future. Well built,very clear and sensible instructions and a very efficient heater. Purchased for use inside a permanent gazebo with polycarbonate roof, it hangs on a hook at correct height and proven to provide ample heat and enough light for underneath area. My wife and guests were all impressed by its performance when it was used one evening as the outside temperature dropped. In fact my wife moved her chair back a bit because she was getting too warm! Great suspended heater.
Our local church approached me about replacing a couple of old infrared heaters suspended on chains from the church ceiling. Replacing like for like was very expensive, so I found these as an alternative on the web. They look smart and being halogen they give off a nice rosy glow that has a psychological effect as well as warming. The old heaters did not glow, making people wonder if they were on or not. With these there is no doubt! The built in light and remote control with two heat settings add greater convenience, although in the church they are on full power all the time. The remote allows selection of 900/1200 or 2100 Watts. The heaters each come with 5 metres of good quality cable with a molded plug and a 50 cm hanging chain. Being all aluminium construction they are light weight and easy to hang. These have been in use for a few weeks and have been universally liked by church goers.
