The nostalgic appeal is what made me say “I have to get one of those”. The original Super Soakers like these were the best especially when compared to that garbage that Hasbro/Nerf is putting out nowadays. I wanted my son to experience a real super soaker. Throw a Supreme logo on it and it instantly gains a 100 additional cool points.
However, all of the excitement was short lived as I filled it up to test it out and it blew more air than water. I thought there was a whale on the other end. I didn’t realize I was going to need to fix it because well Hasbro being cheap and poor quality control.
A quick disassembly to find that the supreme water tank is molded poorly where the hole fills and pressurizes the water chamber and the o-ring isn’t large enough to seal it properly you get a water leak and too much air leakage. I had to clean the poor molding seam and enlarge the opening of the Supreme water tanks hole into the air water exchanger and then sealed it with silicone for a more permanent fix.
All of this from a premium product definitely not something I expected. I know a lot of people won’t even open it as it’s a collectors piece. That’s why I bought two. So one will stay minty fresh. The other one is going to be used and abused like a cheap.... you know.
