(Mostly) as expected
It does exactly what I expect. I did buy a European version of the watch while using it in the US, which is a bit unfortunate but my fault. The watches come with high quality maps specific to their region (so Europe) and then lower resolution maps for the rest of the regions. You can't switch these out. Make sure to use Garmin approved Bluetooth headphones
I made the mistake of thinking any Bluetooth headphones would work. I found out that none of the Samsung galaxy buds (v2) do not work well with this watch. The audio cuts out a lot. I ended up buying a pair of the JBL headphones, which are on the approved list for Garmin, and they work perfectly. The watch itself is top notch and very light versus my previous Garmin 5X, which was like wearing a brick on my wrist. I do miss the larger screen of the Garmin 5X versus this watch but I have gotten used to it over a short period of time. Underwater heart rate
