Does exactly what previous reviews have described , used it to remove rust from some very old sockets that had been left in box which rain had got into. Soaked in hot solution for couple of hours ,, wire brushed ,, then soaked overnight , came out excellent , slight pitting but very useable. Easy to use product , plus can reuse solution again , win win.

Last year, I soaked some badly pitted chromed car trim overnight in a hot, strong Deox solution. Next day, I heated the solution up again and was able to wash off the rust with a paint brush. I washed the parts in very hot, dried them thoroughly, then sprayed them with clear varnish, They still look good and I'm about to repeat the process on another car.

Does what it says on the tin. Removes rust but doesn't affect good metal or even the enamel paint on the hand plane I de-rusted.

Removing rust from awkwardly shaped objects like hubs, suspension components Isa real chore with an angle grinder, flap wheel and wire brush and is never 100% successful. Blasting is the obvious route if one has a blast cabinet . Bilthamber Deox C is the alternative, No dust, and frankly not much work and it is incredibly effective even on heavily corroded items. It just needs patience in the form of a soak in the solution for several days. I always start with a very hot solution which has a pretty rapid effect. Gentle wire brush 24hours later and then perhaps a further soak. But the results are always the same ...... complete removal of corrosion. And the solution will ‘keep’ for several weeks, although I tend to make some up when I have a ‘batch’ of items to do, as it does not store well over a longer period. Completely water soluble , so easy to wash off. One has to be swift with the primer afterwords though as flash rusting will begin pretty swiftly ! Read full review

I used this product to remove rust from some bolts and it proved very effective. I left them soaking in a solution overnight, brushing them a couple of times, and once rinsed off they looked like new. Warm water speeds up the process, apparently.
