After watching the series and loving it,a wonder comes to mind will the film keep the rhythm of the characters from the series. Well a breath of fresh air came to the screen after lock down to see the film carry on from were the series left off.Barow is still the butler and still learning, Tom still on his own but will love blossom for him ?Mary and Edith are getting on better and the cream of it all is Dame Maggie Smith out for blood .The story is quite compelling to watch ,if your a downton fan you won't be able to stop viewing it to the end,To conclude its perfectly executed film a brilliant performances from the cast 5stars😃👍👍👍👍
I had been looking forward to this film for a while, being a fan of Downton Abbey and watching every episode but, myself and partner, were very disappointed with this final epic. Most of the original cast were in it. Too many for the length of the film, so some of the cast, only had a few lines.
The plot was quite simple and unbelievable as the enormous class difference in society at that time would not allow it.
Such a shame to me, that a wonderful series, enjoyed by many, should have a 'Hollywood' type, cram everything in, flash ending.
I bought this as a gift, for my mum. Mum Loves the series, & said this film, is really good! We have been waiting ages for it, & mum said its worth the wait! Fab!
The characters were a bit out of touch, didn’t seem as well written as the series, but wonderful to see it all again. Can’t wait for the next film or even better series. Downton a Abbey is a wonderful story.
Great to catch up with all the characters again, and loved the comedy aspect of the staff switch. Ending was left open for another one I think, but without Maggie Smith.
I am sorry I can't give u u a good write up as I have only just started it, I have been very busy but what I have seen so far I am very happy with it, I have watched all the TV series so it should be good
