Epic upgrade to my MX5
I’d a Bose OEM HU in my Mk3 and although the sound was good it was a bit long in the tooth when getting out of my wife’s Tucson with its touch screen into the Mazda. I got this and the Matra kit and I’m really impressed with both. The HU mated up to the Bose amp and sounds even better and with Amazon music playing through Apple Car Play I’ve got unlimited music on the move as well as access to my audiobooks and podcasts. I highly recommend this HU and the Matra kits with all the wiring including steering wheel controls. To test it out I had Paranoid Android, Paradise Circus and Eleanor Rigby playing and it was too loud to bear and yet there was no distortion at all. I mounted the microphone inside a vent under the steering wheel to hide it and the call was so clear at either end. Siri will read your messages and you can dictate a reply. With the full wiring kit and HU it’s the best £400 upgrade you can make to transform your experience of the car. There’s loads of videos and instructions on the forums how to fit the kits. Good value system
Has a nice shallow depth so easy to fit as an aftermarket mod. Touch screen is responsive and easy to use. Apple car play was reason for purchase and it works a treat, far better than the MMI system in my 2016 Audi A4. Only reason for 4/5 is no usb input on front panel. Instead the usb is on a lead from the back of the unit and finding somewhere to locate it is a pain. Other than that spot on!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
