A Tale of Unintended Consequences
John Malkovich’s subdued performance anchors the chaos that results in a plan gone terribly awry, echoing Fargo and A Simple Plan. It is interesting to watch what happens when one thing after another falls apart and the dead bodies pile up. The person who thought of the original idea to get money had no clue how quickly things could unravel and get out of control. Then we watch him desperately try to get a handle on things, to no effect. He was not a bad guy, but his fraudulent attempt to get rich quick proved to be much more than he bargained for. I liked it because the acting was quite good, and the story had a number of twists and turns to keep me interested. Recommend it if you want a thriller with heart.
