Nothing else out there like it, well done Haynes and Ian Rock!
Very practical, very up-to-date if you get the 2018 edition with ISBN ending 170-6. If you can't afford the money to buy it or the time to go through it, maybe you shouldn't extend your home! The book takes the reader through the whole process, from before you decide to go ahead through planning, running the job and finishing. Useful whether you are DIYing, employing contractors or leaving the project management to a main contractor.
