  • Once upon a time in Australia

ALI'S WEDDING is a total delight from beginning to end, and it explains the difficulties often encountered by the children of migrants of whichever variety. My teen granddaughters were also spellbound. This is the true story, in wonderful detail of a family that settles near Melbourne and the adventures of pleasing the family in a traditional way, and or embracing a new culture in Australian. To be able to see the making of the movie was also a treat, as the young lead actor begins to explain which "stories were not true, oh wait, they were all true". So from faking his way into medical school to being deported in handcuffs from LAX airport America - as he said while being escorted onto the homebound plane he caught sight of himself and friends in a reflection .... and he wouldn't have got on the plane with them at all! Different, insightful, and totally charming. From the LUCKY MILES crowd. Enjoy!
