ANOTHER WINNER FROM DYSON
Firstly have no qualms about buying a “refurbished” product from this Company. Looks and works as if brand new, but at nearly half price. Secondly, and more importantly does it “clean the air”.? In a nutshell YES. My husband suffers from asthma and usually coughs and is wheezy throughout the night, so this was bought specifically to go in the bedroom. I can honestly say that he has improved markedly since using this product and he (and I)!! get a much better nights sleep. I set the machine in auto mode through the day, and then put into night mode when we go to bed. There is little to no noise in night mode and myself being a very light sleeper cannot hear it at all. In addition, despite some reviews re it’s lack of cool air flow from the fan element, I totally beg to differ. I suffer from hot flushes, and combined with the recent hot weather, this has been a godsend. When on the higher mode settings the fan dispenses very cool/cold air, with the added benefit of being able to tilt the fan and also oscillate it so you can control exactly where you want the airflow directing. It is of course a bit noisier on this setting, but not as much as an air conditioning unit would sound, and the noise is well worth the bonus of the benefit of being lovely and cool in the humid nights we have been having recently. Another added bonus is it is obviously portable and can be therefore used in any room through the day, and in the bedroom on a night, if desired. It also looks great-a bit space age -and fits in with all modern decor. However even if it was bright yellow with big pink dots on it, I would still buy it now knowing what a fantastic job it does! It is expensive, but well worth the money. Once again Dyson have come up trumps, and whilst there are other cheaper purifiers/fans on the market, I have no doubt that they will not be anything near as good as this one. Over the last few years I have changed old appliances for Dyson ones, and I have been super impressed with each and every one, and would now never buy any other make. It really boils down to the old saying “you get what you pay for” but this Company’s products are in a definite league of their own. I am looking forward to the next new “invention”, whatever it may be, so get your thinking cap on Mr Dyson, and lets have another one of your time saving/super efficient products!! Good but could be better.
The design is excellent. The shape and size is great. The remote control is very convenient and the app is useful. Good value. When I purchased it I was fully aware it is a desk purifier but as my bedroom is tiny and a simlar size to an office I thought it would be ideal. I do find that the cooling affect is not as expected. It would have to be on 10 for hours. Having it on night mode, which is on maximum 4 ,is not sufficient. The night mode is very noisy so to have the machine on 10 would be impossible to sleep. It would be good to have a thermostat so the ideal temperature could be set for sleeping and the machine would adjust itself. Great Purchase!!
Arrived the next day after ordering, looks like brand new & included the unique code to link to the app. Very quiet when operating although up high the fan it is slightly louder but nowhere near as noisy as the fan it replaced. I wanted an air purifier as well as a fan so this is ideal & interesting to see via the app the quality of the air in the room over a period of time. Already have the tower version and this desk version is just as good. Was reluctant about buying a refurbished one but it is like new, no marks, all shiny and clean and works great and more than half the price that I paid for the other one brand new. Nice looking easy to move about
East to put together, The app is great once connected to your home wi-fi which enables you to turn it off/on no matter where you are. The fan itself is fairly quiet on lower settings in which level 4 at night in the bedroom isn't annoying as my partner is a light sleeper. Like the idea that you can put the remote on top of the fan as it is magnetic. I wasn't aware that it rotated which is a bonus. Works well in a small to medium room, but possibly not powerful enough for a large area. Good enough for HRH!
Seems like a good think, I am replacing a Panasonic one I can't find a new filter for. It even has an app so you can monitor the air quality. Like everything from Dyson, it isn't cheap, but the quality is there. Generally good. But the cooling effect is not that strong (even for small bad room 12 m2). In regards to filtering air, it is a very good device I do not have problems with allergy at all now. The device is not loud so noize levels are satisfactory. Also, it does monitor the air quality level. I really liked the fact I can control it via smartphone. The price I think could be a bit cheaper for the refurbished one - but I guess you paying here for design and to have 2 devices in one (air cooling + purifying). This product is a rip-off. Think twice before you purchase.
For £299, refurbished, this product is an incredible rip-off. I'm genuinely surprised by all of the positive reviews. It performs no better than a standard fan, and the build quality is poor - cheap, flimsy plastic. I've ended up returning it as I was really disappointed. clever piece of kit
