first time using a roku
I am very pleased with the Roku ultra. It is basically plug in and use. The initial setup instructions that come with the Roku are a little vague. you will need the internet to get better instructions. the more you use it the easier it is. The problem is there are alot of low quality access apps that you will surf through. The wireless option is very good. There is plenty of buffering so the picture is clear and stable. I don't have a 4k TV yet but the if the current picture quality is any indication the 4k is going to be awesome.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Roku 4 k
easy set up and very nice picture quality. Unfortunately Roku has some issues with HDMI interface. Just do a google search and you see complaints of green screen and static screen. This happened to me and was not able to resolve problem. Had to return it. Great little box
I had originally bought a cheap Roku Stick (old version) to see what it was like. It impressed me so much that I decided to buy the more powerful Roku Ultra. In the UK it is still not officially sold so I had to buy one which had been imported. Unlike the Roku 4, the Ultra comes with a universal power supply that only requires a UK plug adapter. The Roku comes with an Ethernet port, USB port and Optical out, which differentiates it from the other models. I do not have a 4K/UHD television, so cannot comment on its performance with one of these. Running it through a Denon AVR-3200W receiver, it is working flawlessly with Plex, Netflix and Amazon, passing through DTX and Dolby surround audio. It also works well with the UK TV catch-up services with the exception of BBC IPlayer (which does not work with any of the newer Roku devices). For a UK buyer, I would say it is a worthy upgrade from an older Roku models if you can live without BBC IPlayer for now.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Out Preforms All Previous Boxes
If I could give the Ultra 6 stars, I would! I have 2 prior models of the Roku and the latest Fire tv. The Ultra was chosen this month when Amazon announced they would no longer be supporting Youtube. Much to my suprise and delight the Ultra proms the same or better. I love the feature of usb support for streaming media and it has its own movie and tv channel for free. It also supports mirrioring. The wifi sensitivity is less but the picture quality seems higher. It is easy and comfortable to use and it has become my friend. Excellent Streaming
Bought the Roku Ultra, and it works excellent. I have several Roku's around the house, and they last a long time. Last one I bought was Roku 3. After the 3, I bought Amazon TV box for my 4k TV. Although there are nice features to Amazon TV, the Roku is has a better interface to me. High performance streaming
For the price you cannot find a better streaming device. I do not have any 4K devices so I cannot comment on its capability for that, but 1080P is crystal clear with no buffering. I have mine wired to my router with an ethernet cable just for good measure. I have used it for netflix, Amazon, SlingTV and all perform very well. The interface is fairly straightforward, requires a little set up to make it fit your needs. Better than my smart TV
This is my second Roku after falling in love with my first one. It performs better than the smart tv interface by being faster, easier to use, and providing many more user friendly features.
