Nice inexpensive way to get iPlayer, ITV Hub, 4-O-D and You Tube on your TV
I was looking at the Amazon Fire Stick but it is twice the money. This gives you access to the same for less. I think it is a little slower than the Fire Stick but for my purposes it is fine. On set up it did ask for a credit card but I didn't enter the card details and it still allowed me on. I don't like putting in card details as my 6 and 9 yr olds have a habit of buying things unintentionally. If I ever get the time to watch a movie is does have lots of pay options. You Tube is great except it takes a while to type in searches, which I guess is a problem with all sticks.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

It is not bad for the money, but better by newer model
Gave some issues setting up as it wanted to upgrade first and I did not realize the issue was poor wifi hence the upgrade kept failing. Moved to a different room and it upgraded. The channels can take ages to load. Some do not work at all. I am in SA and I am not getting a lot of good stuff. A lot of rubbish channels so in terms of quality content you got Netflix and YouTube, if you lucky you might get Google play--but I did not. And no Hulu where I am. I had to install a wifi access point 6 m from it and still wifi is only FAIR. I would recommend paying the extra and getting a different model.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

good but noticing some issues
I sold my amazon firestick so I could buy I the 2016 American roku streaming stick, quadcore, faster than the original. Had it for 7 days noticed BBC iplayer app downloaded but doesn't seem to be supported. Also an annoying set up issue that seems intermittent and I have not full resolved this yet but screen sometimes flicks from 1080p to 720p for no apparent reason. These 2 things alone are bugging me quite a lot. Not managed to resolve through roku support either - the just told me to turn it off and on. LolVerified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Excellent product. Delivered quickly to my home. The initial setup was very easy and straight forward with no problems using easy to follow instructions. Adding new channels is simple either by selecting them from a list or using a code if you want to register with the service. I move the ROKU between TVs in different rooms when I want to and as long as I get a WiFi signal from my router it's easy to move just plug and go. Great stick for turning any TV into a Smarter than smart TV......Carry on reading for important info...
Now this is the most important review i've done because Roku (fab company) offer a free hdmi extender cable (took 2 days to arrive for me) I recommend you do nothing until it arrives !!! the reason for this is it will save you wasting time, if (like me) you pop this little sick into a spare hdmi port on your tv & follow the setup guide it may well work (after enjoying its wonder for a while) then when you go back a few hours later it may have stopped working (this is rf interference) I did this twice before I realised the problem....so wait for the hdmi extender... then off you go into a world of wonder (including plex, recently cut out of now tv's box) setup was only a few mins and it's quite easy, quality is great, use the remote app (just type in roku in play store & install) because of the importance of plex to me for streaming my video's from my pc it's a great stick, more importantly I was suprised by the volume of specialist channels, good quality 1080p hd too, maybe this is a slightly older model but it worked fabulously for me and I rate it 5 STAR all round it is brilliant...........Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Good features but slow to respond
We got this to replace a NowTV box that has a more limited range of apps & TV feeds. The Roku is easy to use and does what we want, the only thing is that it is quite a bit slower to respond to the remote than the cheaper NowTV box was. Also, when you start a programme on iPlayer, it often takes several seconds for the picture to come through properly. Increased TV flexibility
This unit has helped increase the range of items I can obtain on my TV. As a relatively new user, I am still learning to become familar with its features. Because ot it's lack of documenation, I am still finding it difficult to make best use of the remote. I have no wish to get involved with subscribing to various sites (particularly those associated with films as I prefer documentary productions) so I do find it frustrating knowing just where it is sensible to aim for. Works OK
This works OK but I didn't like having to register a credit card in order to activate it. I only wanted it for catch up and Netflix. It has all catch up channels for free, but most channels need subscription. No live free TV channels. Good picture quality and easy to use.
