A clasic performance with great singers and a great conductor
This is a CD transfer of a famous performance first issued on LPs in 1961. The principal singers were amongst the greatest around at the time in this type of music and despite its age I don't think there is a better recording of this work available today. The price paid represents a great bargain for this quality of performance. The recorded sound is for me excellent though I wouldn't regard my audio system as state of the art. There is a bonus disc which includes the complete Italian libretto with English translation. Some people may prefer the libretto in booklet form but that would be too much to ask at this price and anyone who really needs the full libretto in paper form can always print it off from the bonus CD- just make sure you have a good supply of paper and a full ink cartridge!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
