This book is definitely a worthy followup to the original Griots anthology book. Other than some occasional spelling and grammatical errors, I'm enjoying the tales I've read so far. I admire how African women are front and center instead of being background or ancillary characters. Although I have yet to finish reading this book at the moment, it has already earned a spot alongside my other fantasy-oriented books and novels. I hope the Griots anthologies will become as prolific as others such as 'The Years Best Science-Fiction/Fantasy/Horror' series that are released annually.
