  • A MEYLE Ball Joint!

    Not the first and almost certainly not the last Ball joint I will purchase, quality appears initially very good on the part, scores a nice shiny 5 star; I have been doing all my own mechanical maintainence for 28 years give or take. Very slight, and I do mean very slight notchyness at a certain angle on the Ball joint, please bear in mind if you are reading this review that Ball joints are susceptible to a slight tightness on the movement or stick on part of their movement prior to bedding in with use. Tightness very hard to move by hand, or severe notchyness; should not be excessive however, if it is the socket and ball have been assembled incorrectly with the shimming and spacing, and it will affect your control arm / wishbone movements, causing steering / tracking handling issues, so change it! One point of contention with the product and in general almost all Balljoints, they are normally handed; or have to be fitted specifically left or right. Trouble is the manufacturers don't mark the bodies of the Balljoint with identification marks, Left - Right, and usually just put a coloured dot; which means absolutley nothing to the fitter. Be cautious make sure you put the Balljoints on the correct sides, to avoid odd camber angles and arch spacing on your wheels / handling - suspension problems.
