In use almost continuously for a month. Accidentaly left it charging on "Start" (25 amp output) and it cut out with a themal safety switch but went back to work after a short cool down. Not in Manual but a good feature worth mentioning as the whole package is excellent.

This is a really good product, well made a very robust. I bought it to recharge the battery on my motorhome that had gone flat during lockdown due to Covid-19. It worked well and was very easy to set up The product leaflet inside is well laid out and easy to read. I was able to set it up very easily ready for charge. I expect there are cheaper chargers out there, but I wanted quality over cheap! I would definitely recommend this charger!

My car had been left for around 4 weeks in all this very cold wet weather, its 17 year old battery this time just could not cope to start, so decided to buy this great value charger / starter unit. I put it on a slow trickle for around 4 hours then I changed it to the fast setting, with the condition needle giving its changing readout to view, it was not long and the unit "Auto returned" to it's slower charge, disconnected it all for tea went back and the car started first time, Brilliant. Left using it as a starter for another day so can't comment on that, but know its there if needed. The only improvement, which will not effect its use, could be a little longer + & - lead ends for attachment, only had 18" spare as my car battery is placed well back, and a couple of L shape hooks at the back of the unit to wind the cables around to keep them tidy, otherwise an "Excellent" piece of kit to get you going.Read full review

Paid 56 pounds for mine with free delivery. It's heavy and that's a good thing. I love the fact is not to high tech and simply powerful. The previous one from Aldi and a different model would to trip out at the slightest thing and had too much protection. I have A 3.2 litre Mercedes V6 and its 100-amp battery was totally dead. I connected this charger and did not wait a few minutes ...I turned the key straight away and it started the big engine. I am impressed. But do not do stupid things like as read in other reviews where a person left a battery on the starter setting for thirty minutes and it roasted the battery. Another read that battery exploded after being COOKED, IN THEMOTOR CRANKING MODE. The starting mode is for starting only NOT SUPER FAST CHARGING and it is very powerful. Never leave it and walk away. You might see a 20-amp starter charger cheaper elsewhere. But I tried one and returned it. They will trip out as they are super sensitive and need 180 seconds to reset before you can try again. That Aldi Charger was too high tech and tripped because the battery was to flat. This charger is pure power. And did the job and it's not fancy or fussy. But I dont think its for idiots. Be careful it is super powerful. Its true this is charger will start an engine and is used in garages. IT IS MAN ENOUGH. As for one person saying there is no place to wind the cables he is right BUT here is a tip. Take a piece of thin flat wood or other material similar to a stick. Lay it across the top of the Carry Handle, Then use two cable ties to hold it there. NOW you can wind all the cables around the carry handle under the T Bar that you have just fitted. The crock clips also clamp onto this T bar. I recommend this Starter charger it produces massive amperage to crank over any engine. Worked on my Mercedes 3.2 V6 Read full review
