almost exactly same as original part
so I bought this filter for my Mk3 Mondeo (1.8 petrol) as the part number is exact same. When I compared new and old they were identical but when it came to fitting new one in old clamp it was too tight. this may be something to do with the new one having a ridge at one end which the old one doesn't but perhaps not as the ridge sits outside the clamp. perhaps the new one is fractionally larger in diameter - unlikely. I actually had problems putting the old one back in the clamp so it's mb nothing to do with the filter. Anyway with a little file work I elongated the hole for the screw and it's back in place
