1) This problem is known on 1.6l HDI PSA engines, the failure of the turbo is not systematically linked to its fragility! The new generation 1.6l hdi engines suffer from a clogging problem in the oil circuit, the consequence of which is the failure of the turbocharger. The rupture of the turbo is generally due to a lack of lubrication of it. The turbo shaft rests on a cushion of pressurized engine oil, it rotates at extreme speeds. Any lack of oil therefore deteriorates it very quickly! It is essential to use this banjo screw (which is installed at the top of the oil supply pipe) when replacing your turbo in order to avoid having the same problem of breakage after fitting the new turbocharger.
