Good size, slow writes
The storage size is good, and I like the physical size and shape of the product. However, I am using it on Linux and get horrible write speeds ( 10MB/s). I admit to using an old computer with only USB 2.0 ports, but this is still about 10x slower than I would expect from this kind of drive. Not clear yet whether the issue is only with the drive, or perhaps some driver issue that I haven't been able to diagnose yet.

Useless item if you want to plug it into you smart tvs or dvd player
This item don't work on tvs or dvd players and should state that in the listings before you waste time and money buying it. Works ok on laptop only. So if you have family picture or videos you want everyone to see, then your out of luck with this. I would buy another product not a Seagate one.

Good trustworthy piece of kit if looked after. Put it in a case when not in use.
I now have 5 of these 4 TB Hard drives some for over 3 Years no trouble so far and they are fast. I use one to gather data and one to back it up so I will be looking for another soon. As soon as the price is right.
