    Quality Construction

This is a high quality cat climbing tree. Made from MDF and not cheap OSB wood and covered in better than average sisal fabric that should insure a long life. I removed the top and bottom sheet metal door brackets and mounted the tree on a block wall. I used wedge type block anchors 3/8" x 3" long. The 3" length was perfect because you have to remember that the MDF wood is 3/4" thick. If you're wondering why this unit may appear more expensive than other models, it's because of the higher quality and more durable materials. After assembly it's really sturdy, and our cats were climbing on it from first sight. Now our cats have a way to climb up to the overhead storage unit (that has fake grass on top of the boxes) that was installed a few weeks ago.

Does not fasten tight to the door- Don't waste your money unless you can screw it right into the door

I bought this cat tree to put on a door upstairs so I didn't have to have a bulky regular cat tree taking up space. It has a spring loaded tension hook for the bottom of the door, but does not actually hold enough tension for a door to stay tight. I even moved the tension up and it still slides on the door and bows away from it. It was a cheap door anyways, so I put a 3" screw right through the middle of the cat tree into the door and now it's solid. If you don't want to screw it into your door, do not waste your money! No cat will climb on it when it is that unstable! It's definitely not worth the money ($60) even if you screw it on! I'd say it's worth about $30- $40 tops!

  • Hard to assemble; smelly; cats won't use!

This is a great product in theory. Its pieces are individually very sturdy. However, there are several problems with it in practice: 1) It's hard to assemble, even with all the included parts. It would have been easier as a two-person task, but I only had me. It was a challenge to keep all the pieces together long enough to attach the nuts to the bolts. 2) The combination of sisal, MDF (particleboard), and glue meant this thing SMELLS for a long time. I smelled it for several days, and even woke up in the night, 2 rooms away from it, smelling it! I have a feeling that my cats can still smell it a month or so later. 3) The top piece's holes were cut wrong, so I couldn't even attach the next piece to it properly. I think over time it could become unusable. 4) It's HEAVY. I have heavy hardwood doors in my house, but I still felt like the assembled product was eventually going to damage them due to its weight. 5) The steps' placement wasn't really anything my cats were interested in using. I think they were too far apart vertically and too short horizontally. The cats only ended up on this item when I picked them up and set them on one of the steps. And they didn't use the sisal parts for scratching, either. I really wanted this to work. But there are way more cons for me than pros, so I'm either sending it back or donating it to Goodwill for some other poor devil to suffer through.

  • Cat climber vs a cat tree

If you have no space for a stand alone cat tree, then this climber might be a good option. Sturdy and takes up little space. However, none of my 3 cats will touch it. They've had a cat tree I bought at a pet store since we moved into this house 8 mths ago. They use it all the time. I set it in front of a window so they can watch birds, squirrels, etc. Being on the back of a door, the cat climber offers no view to entice them up. I'll probably give this one to a friend who doesn't have any other climbing options for her cats. Maybe she has a door near a window so they'll be entertained. It definitely has possibilities for some, but has not appealed to my cats at all.

  • Cat climber

I bought this as a present for my mother’s aging cat. The cat loves to sleep on her tops of her cabinets in her kitchen ten feet up. And the old cat can now climb up there easily instead of jumping up there. And this model fit so well where I put it that it also serves as a shelf at some levels and is built so well with very clear instructions.

  • CHEAP AND SMELL IS HORRIBLE

I PURCHASED THIS AND UPON OPENING BOX THE CHEMICAL SMELL WAS HORRIBLE. I DECIDED TO TRY TO LET IT AIR AFTER PUTTING ITEM TOGETHER AND EVEN USED CLEANER (ALLERGEN CLEANER AND SPRAY ON IT) AND MY CAT STILL WILL NOT TOUCH IT. DON'T WASTE MONEY ON THIS ITEM, IT TOOK SO MUCH TIME AND WAS DIFFICULT IT WAS TO PUT TOGETHER. VERY POORLY MADE, CHEAP FABRIC AND PLAN TO TRASH IT BECAUSE I DESTROYED BOX. PLUS IT WAS TOO EXPENSIVE TO SHIP BACK.

  • takes time for cats to use it....and time for you to get used to banging

so far (1 month) only 1 of my 3 cats has used it..It bangs against the door when she's climbing it, I am now used to the sound and know what it is, at first it startled me .

  • Better in pieces

This item is flimsy and thin, definitely not made for adult cats. Doesn't stay flush with the door and ridiculously difficult to put together. Cats have more fun with it in pieces on the floor. Not a total loss.

  • the reason I do not recommend and say its not a good value is because our cat will not have anything to do with it.

the item was exactly as listed and arrived promptly. As I stated our cat will have nothing to do with it.
