    Underrated flagship phone

LG made great phones. The G7, G8, and V50 were very competitive against other flagship phones. This phone (V50 Thinq) has features and tech that goes toe to toe with iPhones 10, 11, as well as Galaxy S10 and S20. It's just their marketing was not very aggressive. They were muscled out of the cut-throat smart phone business by Samsung, Apple, and the Chinese. You can now find these phones (even brand new) at prices MUCH less than Apple and Samsung comparable models. They're not good value. They are GREAT VALUE!! The G7 and G8 were 6.1 in. screens, while the V50 is 6.4 in. P-OLED.

    Sprint Unlocked Phones

Never, and I mean never, buy a former Sprint Unlocked phone. Sprint heavily limits Android OS so that it is not really usable going forward with other carriers. I am essentially out $420 now that 3G, which we have been minimally functioning on, is being shut down. The phone is great and has the capability to work, but the only option is to go down a bootloader and custom ROM wormhole. I'm buying new phones for now. Maybe I'll explore getting these to run, when I have a lot if IT time to explore rooting and custom ROMs. For now, it's just not worth it and it is money wasted. Don't make my mistake.

  • Brilliant phone with some ergonomy quirks

Very nice screen, very sharp and with good colours. Excellent audio from the 3.5mm audio jack. Good photos, love the combination of three lenses with different focal lenghts. Good photo app with plenty of options. Good LTE speed and future-ready 5G ability. This phone is quite complete, really, for me it's perfect. I have just one thing to note, which is the ergonomic disaster that was placing buttons on the left side. When you press the right power button to turn on the screen, you are transmitting force to the phone, and since the phone is not very heavy and pressing those small keys requires a little more force than ideal, you need to counter that force on the left side of the phone, usually with the base of the left thumb. These are the basic mechanics of operating a phone with one hand. But if you have a button on the left side, in this case a "Google button", where the base of the left thumb is, pressing the right side button will also activate the left button. For this reason I had to deactivate it, otherwise I would only be able to press the right power button without unintentionally pressing the left one by using both hands. And above that are still two volume buttons, but I have gotten used to place my thumb above them, for the support that is really necessary against the force from the right when pushing a button. So it's possible to live with this phone and you can get used to it, but that small right button is still not the easiest to find and press. If you intend on using the fingerprint reader on the rear though, you won't have any of the problems I mention. I don't use it because I want to activate the screen as quickly as possible and to use the fingerprint reader you need to go through an additonal step after that to unblock the phone. The LG G6 had an advantage in this respect, as it allowed the use of the fingerprint reader on the back as a quick screen activating button. That feature would have been very helpful for me with this phone, given the button constraints I mentioned.

  • Android Sweet Spot

This is really a great phone that was too good for its time. The size is right. It actually fits in the wireless charger for my car unlike many other JUMBO phones. I like that. Headphone jack is bonus but I exclusively use Bluetooth these days. Fingerprint sensor works great. Good screen resolution...I have no idea the details but it is quite good. 👍 I also have the V60 with the dual screen. Its great, but way to MASSIVE in my opinion...forget about wireless charging that monstrosity in the wireless charging tray. I bought the V50 after buying the V50 and like the V50 better for all the reasons above except for one somewhat important item. V50 on Verizon is still on Android 10 while V60 has Android 11. Deal breaker? Not for me, plus I am hoping LG pulls through as promissed to provide Android 10 to V50...but who knows if that will ever happen especially since LG is now officially out of the cell phone business. If newest version of Android OS is imperitive then you already know that Pixel phone is your best option. All I know is this V50 rocks and I am loving it everyday.

  • Good cellphone

Good photos, missing the led light on other phones. 11hr of screen on. Missing Screenshot gesture. Item arrived like knew. 9/10 is really 9/10. Almost new. Charger needs to be 9V ==2V otherwise, +2hrs from 30% to 100%. Not as customizable as other cellphones. 5G led does not work for notifications (or I am unable to make it work). Edge notification only in one color and does not remind you of pending (not viewed) notifications. Manual camera is really good. I am satisfied with my purchase.

  • Does work with Metro PCS

I tried to activate this with metro pcs online but couldnt, so I took it into a store & they tried to no avail. A manager came to help & informed me this phone no longer works with Metro pcs as of Jan 2021. Maybe someone can tell me that there is a work-around but I figured I would just order the v60 or something of equal quality. Update, dont try to do this over the internet, dont go into the store. Chat or call tell them the phone will work but not the 5g part they will activate the phone & it will work just fine. although in hindsight I should have gotten the v60.

  • Goog phone but Sprint...

Phone looks nice but i had to return it. Because it is from Sprint, the APN was locked. I couldn't add or edit apn to send picture. Was text only with apn that is there.and if I set the phone for 5g or 4g I can not receive a call. To receive a call has to be in 3g. And I was reading something about t mobile, my provider, going to shut down 3g. I would have a phone that will work to the end of this year in 3g
