Pluses and minuses
Love the light but, need source of the top (accessory?) headband since the lamp is weighty. Second, did not get the answer I'd wanted regarding the replacement of the battery which I figured could be completed by the factory--it can't. This headlamp has (as per the specs) a rather hefty number of recharging cycles so, I may be nit-picking however, at the hefty price, it should be factory-serviced for replacement. Performance is fantastic, infinite levels of brightness up to the reported 1,000 lumens but, with some "steps"---levels of brightness which aren't increased smoothly as the intensity knob is turned. Build is top notch with a Magnesium body (common in high-end digital cameras) but not so common (any others?) in lights of any types. Overall, very nice headlamp.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Best Purchase I Could Have Made!
We seem to always get caught finishing a project on the ranch when it gets dark. The SureFire Headlamp is bright and has variable light settings. It works better than any other light source I have ever used. My sister and I both bought one and now we get the job done so much faster! No more struggling with a flashlight; we can work together with all hands free and this saves so much time and frustration. It's rechargeable and this is a plus - no more going through batteries all the time. We love it! It does get hot when used for extended periods of time on the highest setting so I use lower brightness settings whenever possible. I love all my SureFire products! The variable brightness is great. The build quality is excellent and the wide beam is great for hiking and around camp. I do wish it has usb charging and not a proprietary charging port but I do have a 12v battery pack, so that works but you have to have their cord. Expensive but...
