Many years ago I had a very effective Waxoyl hand pump. Not unlike a a large barrelled bicycle pump which was quality engineered with brass fittings and interchangable heads/probes. The pressure was as high as you could physically push the pump action downwards. It was simple foolproof and very effective. After I lent the pump out and did not get it back I have been searching for a replacement and have tried the pathetic squeeze trigger type which constantly block and are useless. This is almost a return to form after decades of trying to find a replacement. The best advice I can give is to decant about 0.6 litre of waxoyl into the translucent body of the sprayer and thin with around 15% white spirit. (Choose a hot day for it helps if the car is warm for the wax to creep) Now put the body of the sprayer in an old pan of nearly boiling water and leave for 10 minutes to ensure the mixture is as thin as possible. Now screw on the black top shake vigorously and pressurise until the pressure release valve "blows" Now you can attach the long thin translucent tube and pass it into box sections and sills and coat the internal structure. Same applies to the underside drain holes in the doors etc and any dual skin sections. There are usually means of accessing these without drilling extra holes, - if your car has 'kick plates' remove them and use the locating holes. Inner front wings through the door check holes etc. Underbody sections are best attacked when the car is on ramps although many areas can be brushed as well as sprayed after first removing any mud or rusting paint. The sprayer is good if kept pressurised and the mixture as hot as possible. Afterwards pass pure white spirit through the internals to remove all traces of old wax before cleaning the exterior and storing.Read full review

This sprayer is better than the small cheaper trigger sprayer. It works reasonably well if you keep the fluid really warm otherwise the jet will clog too easily. There is no trigger guard and it is very easy to pick it up and accidently send a jet of waxoyl into your face, onto your car body work or onto anything else that is in the way. Sraying Waxoyl is a horrible messy job at the best of times, but this sprayer doesn't really make it any easier and is expensive for what it is.

I've been using Waxoyl and similar products for many years, but the problem has always been spraying it! In the past I have used, and discarded several of the hand pumps. They always got blocked after one use. This one looks like it maybe more resilient, but it is important to clean all parts thoroughly with turps or turps substitute. Top tip though is to thin the Waxoyl with turps before you start. This works better than the warming up of the can suggested. You may get a thinner coat, but it will get into all the nooks and crannies.

This is an ideal way of applying Waxoyl. It comes with a fixed nozzle on the container plus two different length & diameter hoses so there was nowhere I couldn't reach during application. It is essential to thin the waxoyl with white spirit by 10-20% and also to really heat the waxoyl before using in this sprayer. Follow the instructions and you won't go wrong.

Well made unit that works well but could do with a longer more flexible pipe than the black one supplied Works best when the axoyl is warm and thinned with white spirit Mike S
