Good design, Absolutly throws snow twice as far
I live in Montana and we get abundant snow around here. I bough this shovel to use for throwing the snow only. I have a steel pusher type that I use to move snow into piles. If I use the plastic type shovels on my asphalt drive it just wears them out too fast. That said the extra spring handle on this shovel is well worth it. I can only pile snow, over my fence, into my front yard. The pile in my yard gets to be about 6-8 feet tall and 10 feet diameter, but if it is too close to the fence the dog will climb it and jump out. So, I have to throw the snow extra far. Even with the wet early season snow I have been able to let rip and throw heavy wet snow as far as I can throw light stuff. The one thing I would change so far about this setup is to make the spring more rigid. When I am throwing a big load and don't have the right technique, I tend to punch the handle but a little more tension would stop this and give more power.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
