I have only recently got 5G coverage on Three. Bought this as a back up to my home wifi which can, sometimes be a bit slow. Simply charged it, insered SIM then let it do it's thing. Download the app to manage the device. Speeds were excellent. On Speedtest and on Open Signal getting around 200mbs dowload and a strong 20 - 30 mbs upload with low latency and no jitter. Seems to handle multiple devices well although I haven't tried running all my home devices on it yet. Yes it's pricey in comparison to 4G mifi but I noticed the difference. I've used previous Huawei Mifi devices and they have all been good and this seems to continue that. It is more smartphone sized than mifi router sized but it is thin so easy to transport.

For the last few years ive been using adsl broadband using a small isp in order to get 1:1 connection and ensure that my speeds were stables regardless of the time of the day. As fixed line customers we only have a choice of adsl through openreach or cable from virgin. That bothered me abit as if i went with a smaller isp chances are that i wouldnt be able to get more than 70mb which is what i was on. With advancement of mobile networks it is now possible to have broadband through the mobile networks instead which i find a much attractive option since i can choose from various networks and plans based on my needs. I decided to go with vodafone and their unlimitex max plan. Now i needed a device that was comparable to my isp router and that would support 5g. Since i was taking a leap of faith into switching to mobile broadband i wanted everything to be better for it to be worth the risk, price, speed and portability. Having looked around for mobile routers, this was by far the best value for money. You get 5g capability and its portable with a respectable battery size of 4000mah. I didn't go for the pro because i have a powerbank already and i dont need a bigger battery as i dont plan to use this on the move a lot. I am extremelly satisfied with its capabilities. It allows 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi, performs the same or better than a normal router would, it is extremely compact and great looking! Exactly what i needed. I went from 70mb on adsl line to 100+mb on vodafone 4g and couldnt be happier. I am able to game on ps4 just fine too which was something i double checked before switching. Summary: if youve done all your research on mobile broadband and all that you need now is a powerful yet portable router, get this asap as i dont think it will stay this cheap for long as the only competitor i found is from netgear and its double the price at least!Read full review

I am currently experiencing an unexpectedly extended stay in hospital, luckily I have a tablet, laptop, smart speaker with me and a 4G mobile router. However, the router had a tendency to lose its internet connection fairly frequently and suffered from a weak signal sporadically, leading to painfully slow speeds, frequent buffering of online videos and occasional interruption of web page loading. The sim card I had was already 5G as is ofter the case these days so I invested in this Huawei 5G router with a little trepidation as it is not an inexpensive item compared to my 4G one. However, it was definitely worth the investment. The signal is consistently stronger, much stabler and many times faster than with the old router. I was never exceeding 10 Mbps (and often much less) with the 4G router whereas the Huawei is rarely below 100 and typically 150-160 Mbps. So far it has never lost it's connection. I am very happy with this combination of speed and stability (it usually exceeds my iPhone 12 in both respects) and feel that in my current situation it was well worth the investment. If you have the need and the budget for it, I thoroughly recommend it. Incidentally, for those who think “what’s the point of one of those, I’ll just use my phone as a hotspot” the mobile router is a much more covenient solution solution for multiple devices and additionally will allow you to download and install software updates to your iPhone, as the phone sees it like any other WiFi network.Read full review
