An Excellent Machine for First Class Coffee! Head and Shoulders Above Pod Machines!
Having used a pod coffee machine for many years, but never really found a coffee pod that matches the best expresso machine coffee, I decided to invest in a machine that would allow me to use coffee beans of my own choice. And what a revelation! The full coffee flavour now comes through and every cup is as near perfect as you can get. The machine is relatively straight-forward, once you've identified your favourite drinks, and all of them can be customised by temperature, coffee strength, amount of milk and or froth - allowing infinite possibilities. It is worth reading the manual first, as there are a number of things to learn - and I'm still learning after nearly 2 weeks with the machine. The twin-hopper design is useful, allowing two types of beans to be selected individually (although it takes a couple of drinks before the full benefit of the changeover is felt). The inclusion of an additional chute for pre-ground coffee is also useful if you need a single shot of decaf coffee, say, without having to use one of the hoppers for decaf beans. We tend not to use the four touch selections on the front of the machine (the exact composition of which can also be changed - either during the brewing process or permanently through the menu system) as we prefer Americano and Cafe au Lait drinks which are easily accessed through the menu system. The automatic cleaning and rinsing helps maintain the quality of the drinks and never ceases to impress the bystander. We find it's easy to keep the milk container in the fridge and connect it up when you need a milk-based coffee. Keep a check on your milk's use by date, and then ensure you clean the container in line with the date.
