Lovely, lovely story about love and music and vinyl records and a shopkeeper
I've only read two Rachel Joyce novels so far -- The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry and The Music Shop. Both are very engaging. There's a lot to like about both. I love the author's description of real life circumstances and behaviours and views. The detail she puts into seemingly simple things is first class for me. The question I have for you, if you read this, is "Which is your favourite character?" For me, it's a really difficult choice because they are all great but Maud, I think, might just be my favourite. I don't remember if we are told she's from Wales but in my mind, along with the other features we read, she has a (potentially brutal?) south Wales accent! Recommended. Another great read
This is the 4th book by Rachel Joyce that I have read. I love her writing style, the story line in the Music Shop is so good, I want the characters to be my friends 😊 It is both sad and happy and warm. I don’t want to give anything away.
