First class box set, with 3 Ads, 1 Blu-ray and two DVDs. The later line up of the band cover the early years and the later years, and among this are tracks I hadn't heard before, this is common for most King Crimson albums because they toured a new album first and then recorded it in studio; most bands record in studio first and then tour the new album. Thus there are more 'live albums' than there are studio albums but every album is quite excellent. Even if there is a track/song I dont like I find I can go back to it at a later date and eventually it will start to appeal. I have listened to all of the King Crimson albums and I often listen to them, revisit them starting with the early albums first. Touring an album live before recording it in studio is a particular ethic of Robert Fripp. This was another King Crimson album I wanted to collect and I have been very pleased with it. There are still a few more I'd like.
I purchased this from Music Magpie, I did bid on a copy but its price shot up quickly and I knew 'The Magpie' had it at a very reasonable price so I stopped bidding and just bought the one being sold by Music Magpie. The fact that its price kept climbing seemed to indicate to me that it was a very collectable album.
Extraordinary progressive music, many brilliant tracks from the band's multi-decades history, state-of-the-art sound perfection. This live recording gives us the best overall picture of the band's discography.
