As "Crystal Logic" 30 years ago on the small, band -owned label Roadster Records, nobody had any idea that the LP would develop into one of the most influential publication in the heavy metal genre with the gnarled sound and the naive coverartwork over the years and to invent Manilla Road the style "Epic Metal". Crystal Logic's “30th Anniversary Edition” is particularly tough. The zyx studios were able to save "Prologue" and "The Ram" from an old master band that sounds significantly better than any other version before. The remaining songs have also been redesigned for this edition and now sound more powerful. Of course, the exclusive sampler contribution "Flaming Metal System" (US Metal, Shrapnel Records) should not be missing, which is available here in three, slightly different version.

  • Bucket List Manilla Road

In the vinyl on YouTube I have a Heavy Metal channel & one of my videos is my top 50 albums of all time Crystal Logic sits 2nd with Megadeth's Rust In Peace as my #1 album considering in my top 5 it sits ahead of lofty compilation 3. Angel Witch - Angel Witch 4. Slayer - Reign In Blood & 5. Judas Priest's Painkiller that's how highly I rate this album I'm subjective about music & don't toss around 10/10 scores for albums this is that rare beast & the essential place to start if you want to get into Manilla Road call yourself a Metalhead ? then this a bucket list album you should own . If Manilla Road had come along 5 year's later & been on the labels Iced Earth have been on as opposed to a French record label they wouldn't fit into the cult label box like Pentagram sadly it's only now after Mark Shelton's death people people are now catching up with what mainland Europe has known for years that Manilla Road have several classic albums lurking in their discography . Behind the cover that looks like early 1980's Atari 2600 box/cartridge art meets Dungeons & Dragons manuals lurks fans favourie album lurks the start to any potential Manilla Road collection next stop Open The Gates The Deluge Mystification Out Of The Abyss the other essential albums if you're in any doubt about buying this album listen to Necropolis & Flaming Metal Systems on Spotify or YouTube if that's doesn't convince you then you probably buy Metal Hammer & believe what you read that Metallica Mastodon & Ghost have released released albums of the year over the past couple of year's vinyl community type's like me will tell you B/S with bands like Vektor releasing Terminal Redux or Bell Witches Mirror Reaper Crystal Logic fit into that category if never been championed by Metal Hammer who cater to what's trendy with the Kerrang! market i.e. under 24's don't be a sheep buy this .....
