When dental supplies salesman Andy Fiddler arrives in Detroit, he's mistaken by smooth talking career criminal Joey for an international arms dealer he's set to meet. At the same time, federal agent Derrick Vann is after the gang who were responsible for the theft of weapons from the agency's storage unit. Vann lifts Fiddler, but soon realises he's innocent. But if he can get Fiddler to keep up the pretence, he'll be able to bust Joey's gang.
