The converter contains catalysts, often made of platinum, palladium, and rhodium, which facilitate chemical reactions. These reactions convert harmful gases like nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, and unburned hydrocarbons into less harmful substances such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and water vapor.

  • Low price = low quality

The welding is poor quality or even non existing at some joints but I ques it barely does the job (for a while). Also the mounting holes below the catalytic converter do not match to the original support holes and I had to add 1 inch rubber mounting pieces between the support and the cat. The second threaded rived came off during the installation which made things harder as well. BTW., changing this was the hardest DIY job I have done to a car, I do not recommend to do it by yourself.
