Used to replace 10year old Dudley valve which was difficult to get to flush with buttons. Now working better easy to remove old valve but new one is tricky to get onto bayonet connection

I don't like this design of flush. It is difficult to get a good flush, and I regularly break off a thumb nail. Stupid design. However, we have three of these fitted in our house, before we moved in. One in particular, intermittently kept on leaking water. I dismantled and cleaned it, but still the same. This new one was easy to replace and does the trick. We'll get the toilets replaced one day, but were brand new when we moved in.

My old sgl flush Dudley Pneu valve failed........the plastic hinge pivot wears out and eventually breaks, this part of the design is poor and the material inferior, this assembly is flimsy. However, I spent alot of time trying to match my valve with replacements on ebay. My valve didnt quite match. The Pneu hose from the button and access plate went into a rubber type female hose coupling rather than the green male type spigot on the newer versions. Also, the bayonet fitting on mine wasn't close to the newer versions. I had to turn mine 180* anti clockwise to get to the release point rather than the 1/4 turn the new ones require. This was very frustrating and took several attempts in a very restricted space. I used my phone to take pix, then expand the pix to see the problem, then it gave me confidence to firmly rotate the valve sufficiently in order to remove. No helpful instruction anywhere online about these older versions needing this or pictures matching mine exactly. In the end it worked out, but took much longer than anticipated and couldnt follow instructions as my older version didnt perform according to the newer instructions or helpful web tutorials online (thank you to all that do those). But, loo now back in service..... I would suggest oiling the pivot bracket and coupling moving parts to ensure long lasting use.Read full review

Great delivery and price. Just a shame I had to buy the whole unit as I only needed the top half. But very pleased indeed. These units seem to have a life span of about 10 years and are relatively easy to re- install. I particularly like the half twist fitting. A plumber quoted me £150 to do this fairly simple job. Dare I say many people could do the job if they tried.

This item was relatively inexpensive on line so I bought it. The fitting instructions were easy to follow
