Can be used with the equally versatile Manfrotto ball-head grip (not included). Top-of-the-range heavy duty tripod. Versatile with 3-section legs that can be individually angled and extended. Stem can be adjusted vertically and horizontally and can be reversed to allow close-up photography at ground level.
Recent offerings from Manfrotto have been less than quality, so I am pleased to say this tripod is much better quality, although there are several design flaws. One of them is that the level, which is on a rotating bezel under the head interferes with the usage of the main head lock when using a ball head. When I contacted Manfrotto their only advice was to remove the bezel with the level.
Also it's very easy to badly jam your fingers when packing the tripod away due the the design of the leg locks.
So in terms of quality, it's great and I have no issues. In terms of design, it's very poor from a company as experienced as Manfrotto and as I bought this after returning 2 other tripods that were faulty, it's put me off Manfrotto now.
Next time I'll be trying a different company altogether.
