One of my top ten purchases of all time
I've been chopping wood for my wood burner for 5 years, using what I thought was a reasonable axe. When the old axe broke, I thought I'd do some research this time, which led me to buy this Hultafors Ekelund. At 4x the priice of the old axe, I had high hopes for the Ekelund. When recieved, the first thing I noticed was how incredibly sharp the blade was. The handle also somehow fits perfectly wherever you hold it. When I chopped a few blocks to test the axe, the chopping was so easy that I ended up chopping 1 ton of wood, some of which was really knotty, hard wood. For the old axe, this would have taken the edgle of the blade but, the Ekelund was still razor sharp and sliced paper. Conclusion, this is one of my top ten purchases of all time. Highly recommended!

Beautiful after sharpening
They make beautiful axes, the blade was slightly more damaged than we could make out from the picture, so it took a while to get the edge clean, but now it’s a wonderful thing.
