The best way to extend internet! Powerline adapter with wifi transmitter

The best way to extend internet! Powerline adapter with wifi transmitter as well. You connect the first device into a plug socket near your router and connect it to the router via ethernet cable. This then sends internet through your electric powerlines with very little speed loss. Plug in the other device into a plug socket in the room where you reception is currently poor. You then have the option of connecting via ethernet or wifi in that room which is rebroadcast locally. Very little signal/speed loss doing it this way, and much better than wifi range extenders that just re-broadcast a poor signal. Only downside with this particular model is that you have to use another TP Link app, not the standard 'Tether' app.

    Not Impressed

Not impressed with the Powerline WPA7510. It did not gel well with my existing router NETGEAR D6400 and I reverted back to using the WPA4220. The AV1000 and AV2000 units seem more suited for the more powerful routers.

  • Very Good but there are a few things you need to know (ALL powerline adaptors)

Works really well, BUT beware interference on the power ring main in your home. Check your powerline adaptors are not connected to a ring main that your fridge freezer is on, OR at least not too close to it. The real gotcha is your typical mobile phone charger adaptor or other plug in adaptor that is a switched adaptor. Most are these days, Liinear (old school) adaptors do not cause this problem, but are expensive so rarely will you come across one (Laptop adaptors are usually Linear and also priced higher). Rule of thumb, if it's a plug in adaptor with a lead coming off to power or charge something it's going to terribly mess up performance. keep these as far away from the ring main you are using for powerline as possible. If you are experiencing poor or slow throughput, unplug all these devices and retest your speed, plug one back in a time until you know where the problem is and move the adaptor to another room. These adaptors switch on/off/on/off/on/off at high frequency and it causes terrible interference on the powerline circuit. with a mobile adaptor plugged in nearby I was getting approx 3 to 4mb throughput and constant dropping out. removed the mobile adaptor and I'm getting 36Mb in my Garage and never since had one drop out, the Garage is on a different ring main to the sending adaptor and does have a fridge freezer on that ring main, on the same ring main as the sending unit I'm getting 76Mb from a second adaptor.

  • Great bit of foolproof networking kit

I bough this to give me a physical link to my router at the other end of the house, as well as to expand the wireless range on the existing router too. Followed the instructions, downloaded the app and it says I'm getting about 433Mbps between the 2 plugs. This is pretty good as the 1000Mbps advertised is a theoretical maximum, and pretty much unattainable in the real world. The wifi cloning feature has worked really well, and has improved wifi coverage to full bars across the whole house too. Really impressed with this. Has fixed all my connectivity issues.

  • Easy way to reliably expand your wired and wireless network

Such an easy way to extend your network and with decent speed & reliability. You can use them in complete network dead spots, I've got mine in the shed at the bottom of the garden! So much better than those WiFi extenders.

  • Power socket wifi

its quite easy to set up. Please be aware that if you have two of them (total three) for two different rooms the wi fi id and pass will be only from one of them. There is some professional way to sort it though.. works great! not cheap though..

  • Great way of extending wifi

Great way of extending wifi signal across the house. Very easy to set up (just plug and play) and does a very good job of getting wifi signal all over the house.

  • Good product, hard to upgrade and update

The item was the MK1 design and needed manually updating to its firmware - which was neither easy or straightforward. Other than that, it all seemed to work. Product is working as expected post updates.

  • Well worth the extra if you are running a lot of data.

Easy to set up if you follow the instructions. Got it for use in the manshed. Distance has little effect on speed. 4K TV and peripherals all work at full speed with no lag. Wish I'd bought it ages ago instead of struggling with first generation home plugs.
