Sturdy and does the job
After spotting this on late night TV one night, I bought this when my dad started to lose mobility and was struggling to get in and out of the car. This came in the nick of time. My dad can now help himself to get out of the car (only a little help to fully get him out now). This is the ONLY mobility gadget he has not asked me to send back. All other aids he has refused to use. This is discreet and sits in my glove box when not in use. I also like having it my car becasue of the torch feature, and knowing I can break the window in an emergency (I hope not to!) is reassuring. It isn't helping my dad get in the car so much, as it tends to be in his way. This may be the angle he is getting in the car though. I definitely would recommend this car cane to anyone who is pondering whether or not to buy it. I opted for the 'real' car cane and not a cheaper one because I believed it would be the safer option. I still wouldn't opt for one of the cheaper ones, you get what you pay for.

This does not work on the new Citroen C4 Picasso. The pointy end is much too thick to fit where it needs to go. It is strong and well made and I am sad that it will not fit our car as it would have been well used.

A terrific piece of equipment!!
I have only used the grab bar for helping me to get in and out of the car after a total hip replacement operation. It is brilliant and (in my opinion) it save a lot of wear and tear on shoulder and elbow ligaments you would otherwise use to ensure you are safely sitting on the car seat or getting out of the car seat. Even after I don't need it I will keep it in the car in case someone else needs this aid to help getting into or out of the car. Also a great aid to smash car window if needs be as on one occasion I actually managed to lock myself in the car without a key!! Well worth the purchase money.

Not for Citroen Picasso
This is amazing, I wouldn't be without mine. However I ordered one for a friend. He has a Citroen Picasso, 3 years old, it doesn't fit. The catch is very tiny. So don't buy if you have this car.
