Reaches the parts other shears cannot reach ...
It certainly increases the range/reach from a standard hedge trimmer, probably best saved to only do the harder to reach bits, as manouevring is more awkward due to size, and the weight (at distance) gets tiring.
With the wider 22mm cutting capacity, it can get into thicker evergreen growth that normally just deflects my existing hedge trimmer.
I wouldn't consider a cordless unit (lack of power, short runtimes) so this is just the job.
Only down side: Assembling the pole into the unit, it was impossible to get it to engage *all* the way into the tool, until it locked, needed to slacken off and remove a single large cross-head bolt through the handle to get a bit more wiggle room, then it went in with a push, now all solid and secure.
It could use a mark on the pole to show how deep it is intended to engage, as it would be easy to think it was in, when it's not fully home.
