Good value and does a fair job.

I had an advisory on last years MOT about the brightness of the highlights, they were a bit cloudy so I thought I'd try this kit a few weeks before this years MOT. I didn't think my headlights were bad enough to need the coarsest abrasive pad and I just used the other three sides. I spend about 15 minutes on each headlight and felt they were very much improved. The attached photos shows before and after with the lights off and then with them on. The only issue I had was the final stage, a wipe to seal them and protect them from UV. This went on like a thin clear grease and needed up to 24 hours to dry. Two days later it was still greasy and dirt and small flies were sticking to it. I washed it off with car wash-n-wax and the lights look good. Today it had this year's MOT and there was no mention of the headlights. Result! How long it lasts without proper UV protection remains to be seen.

    a good product

easy to understand the instructions. i had to give the headlight 3 goes as they where very pitted but each time they got better. you receive plenty of spray and compound but the pads wear out quite quickly. a very good product from a long established company

  • I have seen the light

Product came as described and on time. It took about an hour to do both headlights, used the 4 different grades of sand paper and polishing compound the sealer and UV treatment. They came up great. Only minor Criticism is they could do with some extra sealer and treatment wipes, not sure if you can buy extras. Bottom line very pleased with result.

  • Works great if you put the effort in!

I wasn't expecting much from this kit to be honest, but i thought if it made at least a small improvement it would be worth it. I followed the instructions and also watched some videos on you tube of other people using similar kits, which i found very helpful. My advise to any potential buyers would be to make sure you don't skimp when doing the sanding down it makes all the difference to the final result. My only niggle is that you only get one sealing wipe so basically you get one shot to get it right or you have to buy more wipes to try again. A pitty because adding more wipes would make it so much more useful, but apart from that it was certainly worth the money

  • Headlight renovator

This kit provides all you need to remove the bloom that develops on old, plastic headlight lenses, and returns them to a clear state. This is important as bloomed headlights can be an MOT failure. The kit comes with two bottles, one the restorer, the other lubricant for the 4 grades of abrasive that is provided on two pads (double sided). It's a case of adding a large dose of elbow grease and getting on with it. My Mark 1 Honda CR-V had quite badly bloomed lights, and within an hour of hard work were almost back to new. Once completed you then apply the liquid from two sachets to help prevent it coming back. If there's one complaint it's that the sachets contain enough for one set of headlights, whereas the rest of the kit would easily do two or three. This is a shame, as I had hoped to use it on another vehicle. But for about £10 it's not too bad if you need to buy another.

  • does what it says on the bottles

If you have fading and yellowing headlights on your car, before you fork out for new ones or new front replacement parts, try this! It is a plastic restorer for headlights - and actually any plastic item (I might try it on my perspex lid to my turntable record player) - and you wipe on with kitchen roll, rub gently in circular motions, and then wipe it off. The second part is a kind of sealer to stop further degradation. Both are simple to apply and the results are immediate and very visible - on my headlamps which were advisories on the last MOT, they fair sparkled after I had polished and coated them.

  • Worked well

I followed the instructions to the letter, it took about an hour, and my lights look miles better, good as new? Not really but a big improvement. The instructions as a bit scant and vague, could do with more explanation. For best results, use a buffer.

  • It works but once only

Plenty of product, and the sanding pads are reusable however, the final coating is a one-time use, so yes a great product but it has its limitations unless it is possible to buy the coating separately. All in all easily worth a tenner for good results.

  • DIY clearer headlamp lenses.

I did improved the lights on my c.15 year old car. The lenses are much clearer, but not perfect. A lot of effort is required - so not for anyone with weak wrists or arthritis. Don't expect miracles.

  • Impressive results with a little effort

Quite a good result achieved after about 30 minutes work on each headlight. I'd used another brand of headlight restorer about 18 months ago and was faced with the lens being almost as bad again when I read up that the key was to use a final uv protection which the previous one didn't have. There is a final stage with the Turtle Wax product which I think will be this so here's hoping.
