Made the chicken ruby far too much oil to reduce tomatoes poured most of it out just not needed, it took a lot of cooking it took forever and I didn't like it it was too tomatoey that's all I could taste. I also reduce the salt to 1/4 teaspoon of rock salt. The minced lamb is lovely. I have not cooked anything else from it. Love the stories about mumbai I would love to go. It is a lovely book.
I love the book in terms of the content. Really wanted it as a collectible.
The problem was in the quality of the cover and that its prone to damage during transport. There is a small tear in the blue cover of my book and although its small I was actually quite sad that my collectible book had an imperfection. So wasnt packed properly.
No matter wether you want recipes or an interest in travel especially India this book is perfect! Such beautiful recipes that anybody can do but the authentic pictures that accompany the recipes the information about Bombay that is dotted through the book makes this book a fantastic read. I have travelled to India although not to Bombay and I can’t put this book down it’s so authentic I’m sure anybody would like this book as a gift or just to read for themselves definitely recommend it
Great book with all the classic Dishoom dishes. A lot of the recipes are very long and you often have to refer to another recipe to do elements within a dish but this is typical of Indian food. So don’t expect a lot of quick and easy recipes!
I’m still working my way through this excellent book. It’s more of a travelogue than a cookery book - taking the reader on a day tour of Mumbai’s restaurants and cafes. The photography really brings it to life and the recipes are authentic. Definitely one to dip into for a reading snack!
