Have today fitted this new seal to an old PVC double glazed kitchen stable styled door. The door is about 18 years old and was fitted with an L shaped seal which over time had pulled free at the corners and had quashed dents which meant there was always a draught when the door was shut. Following the first instruction, I compared a short piece with the in place seal which showed that the in groove foot was identical, I also pushed the new piece into the seal track to decide which way to instal the seal for best sealing effect. The new seal, with the ovoid shape fitted perfectly, and was simple to push and squeeze into the seal groove. The only problem was the twisting of the strip as it was lifted from the bucket. I didn't want to cut off any length till I was certain the seal was fitted all around the door frame. It is also essential not to stretch the seal strip as it would pull at the corners. Both the door seal inner and the frame seal outer were replaced. So simple and neat, even the right-angled corners were easy to fill. Just be aware that the door will be a bit harder to close as the new seal will need to bed in, which also indicates that it's making contact and working. Thoroughly recommend, next job is the french windows which will require a wider seal at the door overlaps. Mr HRead full review

This did help me decide what size seal would work, but the pieces were not really long enough, at only about 5cm long each. I needed to find a size to seal both sides of a door panel evenly, and 5cm was just too short to cut in 2 to do this effectively. Since this seal is priced at around 99p per metre, surely the lengths could be at least 10cm long each?

After a lot of research, I settled for this design, material and supplier because it exactly matched the requirement, to replace decaying rubber seals in a variety of UPVC windows. It was also the best value. I have begun the task of renewing the seals in 30+ windows of several different types, it appears to fit them all and replaces both similar seals (bubble = eliptical, hollow) and flipper (like a windscreen wiper). I am on my third pot of 25 m lengths. Thoroughly recommended. The challenge sometimes is removing the old seas from the groove.

Great quality and good price. I moved into a rented apartment and the seal around the balcony doors were terrible. When I saw this product I just had to purchase it. I have the old seal removed and used this Stormguard UPVC replacement door and window gasket rubber seal and it is brilliant. It is a great length and fitted all around balcony doors with some left over. I can certainly recommend.

Surprisingly useful and fun way to check for the correct fitting for replacement frame gasket seals. Adequate length of each size makes it easy. Also makes it clear that DIY is possible for an easy refresh or your uPVC windows.
