Great value sharp lens.

Plastic, but very nice.
Plastic lenses get a bad wrap, but high quality plastics, light weight, sharp optics and closeup quality accounts well for it. Only issues are it may be easier to break if dropped compared to metal bodied lenses. And autofocus can hunt a bit, and the af noise is not made for video. If you wanted a video lens, consider the zeist 35mm f2.8 or samyang 35mm f1.8 instead of the tamron 35mm macro. This is made for full frame, it works on aps-c camera bodies, but will off best results on sony a7 (and a9 and a1) series cameras. Remember that every lens is different, and if it isn't suitable for a task, you'll need to rethink your lens choice to get superior results.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
