Images of Truth: From Sign to Symbol by Carlo Sini (Hardcover, 1993)

About this product

Product Information

Images of Truth, Sini's first book to be translated into English and perhaps the best introduction to his work, is in many ways both a synthesis of the author's theoretical investigation of the last ten years and the culmination of his endeavors. Sini's early work was in classical philosophy and on Husserl. His more recent work has been on Peirce's philosophy, particularly his semiotics, which Sini, together with Umberto Eco, was responsible for bringing to the fore in Italy. Indeed, Sini's greatest contribution is his artful linking of Peircean notions of interpretation and unlimited semiosis with Nietzsche's and Heidegger's hermeneutic circle and the event of meaning. This unusual combination lies at the heart of Sini's recent theories of knowledge and plays a central role in his mature thought.
