No match for classics In Rock or Machine Head but Deep Purple can still cut it with their newest album - another pleasing collection of old school 70s style hard rock. Ian Gillan's voice is much more melodic these days but this album rocks hard from start to finish. My favourite 2 tracks are during the 2nd half - The Long Way Round, almost 6 minutes of prog meets hard rock, and Remission Possible/Man Alive - even more progressive with hard rock, string arrangement and spoken interludes, all indicating that Deep Purple who have been around some 55 years are still far from a spent force.

Deep Purple at They're Best every track is very strong catchy memorable full of books riffs solos great singing fun lyrics, the album gets better as it goes along, just when you thought they where gonna retire they comeback with one of the best cds since the infinite which I thought was a superb swansong but they just can't stop and thank God because a world without this music would be losing out big time, again this is a brilliant CD

Deep Purple have been my favourite rock band for many years, and this latest album hasn't changed that, it's a brilliant album, without a bad track on it.

Very good. It arrived in good time and totally undamaged. It was a very interesting album, it almost reminded me on certain tracks of ELP. Emerson Lake and Palmer

Excellent album. Brilliant musicianship throughout. No filler tracks, just end to end quality.
