I have a OLDER TYPE type Bosch fridge-freezer with a light only in the lower fridge section. Next to the light is a small "superfreeze" switch to keep the freezer at an even lower temperature than usual. This is useful if you buy food and want it to freeze as quickly as possible. What some people might forget is that on CERTAIN OLDER Bosch models, this superfreeze function works by keeping the light on even when the fridge door is closed. The resultant small amount of heat from the bulb is sufficient to "trick" the thermostat into thinking that the freezer needs to cool down further. I forgot this recently when I needed to buy a replacement bulb. I thought I was being smart by buying an LED as a replacement. Of course the LED gave off virtually no heat, thus rendering this superfreeze function useless. That is why I had to buy these traditional bulbs instead. In most cases, LEDs are of course the logical choice, but if you have an older fridge-freezer, it may be worth checking how your superfreeze button works before ordering a replacement. Very happy with these! Read full review
